Things To Do In Cardiff

By Francis Mitchell

When visiting the UK most travellers tend to arrive in the summer months taking full advantage of the long sunny warm days. Even in the winter months Wales has something to offer everyone on a UK vacation.

The capital of Wales is Cardiff and the emblem is a leek. There has been a lot of development around the city centre in recent years and the bay area now boasts a large welcoming complex which surrounds the marina. There is fun for all the family here.

The quay side has lots of promising well known names in and around the Mermaid area. You can visit the shopping to experience the brand names or just sit and have a coffee and watch the world go by. Near to the centre is water bus which can sail passengers from here to the city centre. The city itself can be walked around without the need for transport although of you prefer to take your car and visit the outside parts of Wales this is acceptable.

Thinking of your next adventure could take you over to the Planetarium which is also based in the quay area follow the sign posts for Techniquest where the entry is the same door as the science centre. Great for viewing Patrick Moore star at night style.

The best piece of advise anyone can offer when travelling with a family is to try and stick to a realist budget. Best way is to try and plan your daily activities and from there you will be able to see how much everything will cost you and budget for a little bit extra for emergencies.

Plan to book your car in advance if you intend to travel during the summer holidays as this tends to peak time in the rental market and you do not want to disappoint your family if everything is booked apart from the car hire.
