Pets and family go hand in hand where Americans are concerned according to the latest research. As much as 1 in 2 households own a pet nowadays and they are considered to be one of the family members. Going on vacation with your pet can be a little overwhelming so by following our simple guidelines you will have a stress free holiday.

Ask lots of questions when you first contact your accommodation venue. You will find that the venues have already terms in place for such questions. Some of the rules maybe size or weight of the pet. Hotel managers may suggest to keep your pet in a pen or carrier type product. After you questions have been asked , a good piece of advise is to ask for everything to be sent to you in writing.

Checking what is in your room will ease your mind a little so you will then know what is included and what supplies you will need to bring with you. Also a good idea is to check what outdoor facilities there is for your dog such as dog friendly paths and parks so exercising will be much easier than ever.

Good pet hotels will offer a supply of treats and be pet friendly with a variety of areas allowing your pet to enjoy their stay. Having lots of pet zone areas for you pet to play and smooth surfaces for cleaning will open up a whole different world for them to enjoy on their holidays.

Travelling with your pet in your car will be an adventure you will not forget. Allow for extra time to reach your destination and allow for extra add on stops at service stations as a long time in your car may not suit all pets. Consider bringing with extra blankets and sheets or toys with you on the car journey.

Remembering the small details for your pet will result in a easy car journey and a happy vacation.
